DaVinci Designer Improves Finishing Automation at Print 17

Online Designer and 3D Proofer Eases Print Manufacturing Process

LAS VEGAS, NV – DaVinci Designer (DaVinci) drew crowds with its award-winning finish proofing at Print 17. Approximately 20,000 print professionals attended the largest exhibition and conference for the graphic communications industry, held Sept. 10-14 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

Demonstrated this year at the Opensoft Inc. booth, MBM Corporation’s booth and Konica Minolta’s theater, DaVinci’s intuitive online designer tool for web-to-print storefronts also established its added ability to facilitate back-end finishing automation.

"DaVinci’s technology offers a print software solution that assists the automation and workflow of the front-end manufacturing process," said Klaus Peter, sales manager, DaVinci Designer.

High-level executives from major manufacturers and suppliers of commercial printers looked to DaVinci’s built-in 3D viewer, realistic soft proofs and folding animation to enhance specialty printing and packaging processes.

The sophisticated designer can generate special effects like spot UV and texture without requiring a separate layer. It renders soft proofs like foil proofing and texture proofing with full 360-degree rotational views that illustrate lifelike physicality and lighting variances of the final print product. Additionally, the viewer also includes accurate folding animation of packaging and other 3D objects.

DaVinci’s advanced visualization software allows distributors to offer expanded services and more upsell opportunities for print providers and trade printers when bundled with the sale of commercial printing machines.
