New Canon Solutions Deliver Improved Experience for Customers and Dealers

Dec 2, 2013 11:22:28 AM

The developers at Canon and its subsidiaries have been busy of late, rolling out new and improved versions of several key platforms for Canon customers and dealers. For customers, one notable upgrade is the arrival of uniFLOW V5.2, an output management platform developed by Canon subsidiary NT-ware Systemprogrammierung GmbH and sold exclusively through Canon and approved resellers. As with the versions before it, uniFLOW V5.2 is an extensive and feature-rich solution that addresses a number of document security, print routing, scan routing, print management, mobile printing and cost control/recovery needs. The major addition in terms of features in the new version is integrated print-room management, allowing larger organizations to use one platform to manage both their office print/scan infrastructure and their in-house print room. The other major enhancement is vastly improved installation and setup routines that take much of the pain out of installing, configuring and managing a uniFLOW deployment for resellers and customer IT administrators. Read BLI’s full Solutions Report for details on this  solution.

On the reseller front, the company now offers an improved version of its cloud-based Canon imageWARE Remote tool, a comprehensive fleet management platform designed for the manufacturer’s authorized dealers and service providers. Designed to underpin a managed print services (MPS) practice, this free solution automates meter read collection and enables remote diagnostics for consumables status and device warnings and errors. Canon’s two newest improvements to the platform include a service provider page on Canon eSupport that describes—and links to—the most pertinent downloads, resources and related information for both imageWARE Remote and the associated Content Delivery System. In additon, the tool’s Universal Gateway (UGW) SnapShot website is now compatible with popular smartphones and tablets and offers at-a-glance diagnostics and repair information that should help technicians in the field accomplish service tasks faster—and correctly the first time.
