Xerox Expands its App Portfolio

Apr 28, 2015 12:22:28 PM
Adding to its already robust selection of mobile and MFP-resident apps, Xerox has announced a number of new business apps that it says will help users “create, share and process information without servers, middle-ware or IT support.” The new apps have a diverse range of functions, including everything from Android print support to new offerings from Sagecom. These apps work with Xerox’s well-established ConnectKey technology, which seamlessly connects MFPs for easy networking

The new offerings include the Xerox Print Service Plug-in for Android, enabling users to perform various printer functions, such as paper and color selection, from their Android device. The Sagecom XMediusCLOUD Fax App brings users cloud-based fax transmission and workflow management with a pay-as-you-go pricing model. Mobile Link offers remote workflow creation and printer control. Mobile Access slows the user to monitor, configure, and operate a Xerox MFP. Version 3.0 of Mobile Print Cloud was also released and boasts functionality with any device, regardless of brand.

And speaking of app functionality, last year the company introduced its App Studio platform, which allows resellers to develop custom MFP-resident applications for their customers ConnectKey-enabled MFPs.
