Epson Introduces New High-Volume Monochrome Inkjet MFP

May 29, 2019 12:22:28 PM

On May 29th, Epson America announced a new high-volume A3 monochrome inkjet multi-functional printer, the WorkForce Enterprise WF-M20590.  This announcement expands the company’s corporate inkjet line-head printer portfolio and joins the 100 ISO ppm WorkForce Enterprise Color WF-C20590 and the 75 ISO ppm WorkForce Enterprise Color WF-C17590 launched in 2018.  According to Epson, The new high-speed monochrome inkjet device was designed to offer dealers and customers alike a monochrome option at this speed range. It also provides a portfolio of high-speed inkjet MFPs to offer to their channel partners.

Powered by Epson’s patented PrecisionCore ® line-head technology the WF-M20590 delivers high-volume, 100 ISO ppm monochrome printing and uses up to 50 percent less power than traditional mono lasers while keeping operating costs down.  Equipped with a maximum paper capacity of 5,350 sheets and an optional finisher for stacking and stapling the WF-M20590 is designed for faster workflow and larger print jobs. A large 9-inch color touch display makes copy controls easy to complete along with support for direct scan to email or the cloud. The paper trays support up to 13” x 19” while a dual-head single pass scanner can simultaneously scan both sides of a 2-sided document up to 110 ipm and the high capacity ink cartridges provide up to 60,000 pages before first ink replacement is required.

According to Epson, while color printing is a key value proposition a high percentage of printed pages in the office environment today are still monochrome. In fact, many verticals are still heavily focused on monochrome printing specifically healthcare, education, general admin, government and insurance/banking.  Epson hopes to capitalize on this market segment with the WF-M20590 which offer some key benefits over workgroup laser MFPs such as no warm-up time, a fast first page out time and up to 50 percent less power than similarly featured mono lasers devices. The new WorkForce Enterprise WF-M20590 will be available in June with a suggested retail price of $27,213

Keypoint Intelligence forecasts continued growth (11.7% CAGR through 2022), within the high-speed business inkjet segment fueled by new entrants into the market like Epson’s WorkForce Enterprise series and changing viewpoints of end-customers & channel partners alike on the benefits of high-speed inkjet technology.
