PaperCut has released version 26.0 of PaperCut MF, delivering a platform-focused update that modernizes authentication, improves support for emerging Windows devices, and further strengthens enterprise print security.
Rather than introducing entirely new print management capabilities, the release focuses on strengthening the platform that underpins enterprise printing. Several of the enhancements—including native SAML 2.0 support, ARM64 compatibility, and lifecycle security controls—reflect broader enterprise IT priorities around cloud identity, hybrid work, and zero-trust security.

Identity is Becoming the Foundation of Enterprise Print
The most significant enhancement in PaperCut MF 26.0 is a redesigned authentication framework that brings the platform closer in line with modern enterprise identity strategies.
Users now benefit from a unified authentication experience, allowing them to sign in once and remain authenticated across PaperCut web portals, the User Client, and other platform components. The User Client also moves to a browser-based authentication flow, providing a more familiar and secure login experience while reducing repeated credential prompts.
Building on this foundation, PaperCut MF now supports native SAML 2.0 authentication. Acting as a SAML service provider, the platform integrates with leading identity providers including Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, PingFederate, and JumpCloud, enabling organizations to extend existing Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) policies across their print infrastructure. For enterprises standardizing on cloud identity platforms, the result is simplified administration and a more consistent user experience.
Supporting Modern Endpoint Strategies
As Windows-on-ARM devices continue to enter enterprise fleets, PaperCut MF 26.0 ensures they can be supported without introducing additional print queues or deployment complexity.
Print Deploy now automatically detects whether a device uses an Intel/AMD or ARM64 processor and deploys the appropriate print driver accordingly. Administrators can continue managing a single print queue while the PaperCut Global Print Driver helps bridge gaps where native ARM64 printer drivers are not yet available.

Platform Modernization Extends to the MFP
PaperCut continues to modernize its embedded platform with several notable enhancements in version 26.0.
A completely rebuilt embedded application for Ricoh SmartSDK devices delivers faster logins, improved performance, and simplified deployment through one-click installation, in-product upgrades, and streamlined certificate management. The update reduces administrative effort while bringing the Ricoh experience into closer alignment with other supported PaperCut embedded applications.
The release also introduces a refreshed Modern Embedded UI for supported multifunction devices. Rather than redesigning workflows, the update focuses on visual modernization, including an optional Dark Mode, allowing organizations to provide a cleaner user experience without requiring user retraining or disrupting established print, copy, and scan workflows.
Security by Default Continues to Evolve
Security remains a central theme throughout the release. PaperCut MF 26.0 introduces automatic enforcement of its End-of-Life (EOL) device policy by disabling unsupported embedded device types following an upgrade. While administrators retain the ability to temporarily re-enable legacy devices when business continuity requires it, doing so requires an explicit acknowledgement of the associated security risks, with the action recorded for auditing purposes.
The approach reflects a broader industry trend towards reducing the attack surface by encouraging organizations to retire hardware that no longer receives vendor security updates.
