Epson Adds a New Model to Its Supertank Lineup

 
On June 16, Epson launched the 25-ppm WorkForce ST-C8090 Supertank Color MFP. This device is an addition to Epson’s A3-supporting Supertank color collection. It offers the same features and functionality as its predecessor, the Epson WorkForce ST-C8000 Supertank Color MFP, and adds on support for PCL and PostScript printing as well as Epson’s Open Platform. 

As with all of Epson’s Supertank models, the WorkForce ST-C8090 includes:

• Up to two years of (enough to print up to 19,500 pages black/14,800 pages each color, calculated based on letter-size pages), which contributes a significantly lower-than-average cost per page and total cost of ownership compared to in-class laser models.
  • According to Epson, cost per page is approximately 2 cents (per color ISO page) and total cost of ownership is up to 60% lower than that of competitive laser models.
• A two-year ink guarantee, allowing customers to be reimbursed if they use up the ink before the two years are over.
• Epson’s PrecisionCore heat-free technology, which contributes to faster first-page-out times, better image quality, and lower energy consumption.

All Supertank models also mainly target retail, remote work/learning, and logistics/warehouse environments. More specifically, the ST-C8090 is geared towards hospitality, architecture, and finance, as its ability to handle A3 media (up to 13" x 19") makes it capable of producing restaurant menus, store signage, floor plans, spreadsheets, and presentations.  

The unit includes Epson’s two-year limited warranty, which contains Epson’s Preferred Plus Premium package for the first year and its Preferred Plus Standard Package for the second year (see details of each package in the image above). Users have several upgrade and warranty extension options. They can upgrade their second year of warranty to premium for an MSRP of $169.99. Service plans can be extended for up to five years. For years three to five, the premium extension has an MSRP of $299.99/year and the standard extension has an MSRP of $169.99/year.
