Lexmark Takes Top Spot with Complete Approach to Healthcare Solutions

One of the verticals biggest problems is that most healthcare solution setups are a mix of software with little to no integration between products. Many healthcare organizations have picture archive and communication systems (PACS), vendor neutral archives (VNA) and enterprise content management (ECM) solutions, these tools are often disparate, creating a system that is difficult to both use and manage. Lexmark’s HCM approach, it says, “combines ECM, VNA, image connectivity and exchange technologies to create an integrated framework for managing all forms of patient-related content.”

In short, the company aims to eliminate the need for many different products and give customers the ability to take care of all processes--such as medical images, video and documents—under one easy to use platform accessible within an electronic medical record (EMR) solution. One single vendor offering all this functionality also means that buyers will be able to get all they need from one source, which eliminates the resources and headaches that come from buying different products from multiple companies. This approach has clearly paid off for Lexmark’s bottom line; the Frost & Sullivan write-up noted that one hundred percent of healthcare systems meeting stage 7 of HIMSS analytics’ EMR adoption model use Lexmark solutions.

“Lexmark is a technology leader with a rich history of providing innovative solutions for managing unstructured content across the healthcare continuum," said Lexmark’s Vice President and President of Enterprise Software, Reynolds C. Bish. "This award is another validation of the innovation and execution we strive to deliver so our healthcare customers can produce better results for clinical decision-makers and the patients they serve."
