$100K Raised for Charity, 250 Guests, Seven Awards—One Great Time!
Buyers Lab joined Frank, CJ and Carol Cannata for The Cannata Report’s annual Awards & Charities Dinner at the Meadow Wood Manor in Randolph, New Jersey. This year celebrated the 30th anniversary of the event, which brings together key members of the document imaging industry for a fun night of socializing, dining and, for some, award winning.
With sponsorships absorbing the event’s cost, 100 percent of the proceeds raised will benefit the Esophageal Cancer Research Endowment that the Cannata Report established with the V Foundation for Cancer Research, in honor of Robert “Bob” Shields, former president of Copytronics, Inc., who passed away in 2014. This year’s event raised an outstanding $100,000, while a silent auction of sports memorabilia raised nearly $5,000 for the Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon.
Around 250 attendees from OEMs, dealers, leasing companies, software vendors and other partner businesses mingled during the cocktail hour. It’s a pretty great guest list, especially considering it’s one of only a few industry events left where you’ll find representatives from all or most of the major vendors.
Following dinner we turned our attention to the emcee, Bob Goldberg of the BTA, who presented the awards that are the result of survey responses from The Cannata Report readers. Here are the 2015 winners:
Executive of the Year: Rick Taylor, president and COO of Konica Minolta Business Solutions, U.S.A. (for the fifth year in a row!)
Female Executive of the Year: Laura Blackmer, senior vice president of sales for Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America

Best-in-Class Manufacturer: Toshiba America Business Solutions
