Like a southbound locomotive rumbling down the tracks, FADGI compliance is coming with a full head of steam. Given that we’re talking about scanners and digital records, Kodak Alaris wanted to be ahead of the curve, naturally.

For those not familiar, the Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative (FADGI) standards help “to keep the accuracy, integrity, and fidelity of the historical documents intact.” Starting in June 2024, the National Archives and Record Administration (NARA) and Office of Management and Budgets (OMB) will only accept digital material that meets the top-tier of FADGI guidelines.

Keypoint Intelligence’s initial foray into the world of FADGI came to life thanks to Kodak Alaris. Using the Kodak i5250 and i5850, we scanned and scanned and found that these devices can be relied upon to consistently create digital images that comply with FADGI standards. So, how did we reach that conclusion? And why is FADGI a critical next step in the evolution of scanners and digital transformation (DX)?

If you are not yet on the FADGI train, now is the time to hop on. It’s really that simple.
