WATCH: In Conversation With Michael Reiher of Good2Go Software

A realization that small print shops needed an affordable and easy-to-use workflow solution along with growth in cloud solutions has paved the way for Good2Go Software, a new company headed by industry veteran Michael Reiher. Good2Go Software announced its first solution: Good2Go, a cloud-based solution starting at just $50 per month.

“I really want to build something that was easily accessible, something that was very cost-effective,” Reiher said. “My goal was, I wanted customers to be able to buy, try, and have everything up and running in, like, 15 minutes.”

The software covers common tasks required by printers and their customers, including the pre-flighting of design files, file annotation and approval, as well as print job management—all built within a framework of deadlines, task assignment, and corresponding notifications.

Good2Go enables clients, designers, and printers to easily communicate and share files remotely (e.g., through a one-click upload, two-way annotations, and interactive document reviews)—no matter what computing device they are using. It can be used on its own or in conjunction with compatible workflow software; several partnership announcements are forthcoming.

While the process of printing hasn’t changed, the way printers and their customers interact with software and communicate has.

“[Customers] don’t want you to pick up the phone and call them: ‘Come get your print job, it’s ready to go,’” Reiher said. “They want to see an email and a text message.”

Key differentiators of the solution include its:

  • Focus on excelling at review and approval-related workflows, including viewing and markup capabilities
  • Integration with third-party solutions that are “best in breed” for different functions
  • Low pricing (i.e., $50/month base pricing; $150/month for five-user account; $250/month for 10-user account)
  • Ability to be up and running in 15 minutes (and tested on a free-trial basis)

Eventually, the solution may integrate other capabilities like color management and imposition; there may also be the possibility for print buyers and designers to create Good2Go accounts to access all their past files.

Below is an excerpt from my conversation with Reiher about his new product.
