Check out Keypoint Intelligence’s Labels & Packaging Services!
Recorded right after Labelexpo Europe, Keypoint Intelligence’s Jeff Wettersten, Charles Lissenburg, and Marc Mascara sat down for a special edition of the FuturePrint Podcast, where the focus was on emerging trends and big-picture shifts in the labels and packaging space. The real value in their conversation, however, is for converters, OEMs, and brand owners seeking to understand how digital print is maturing into industrial-scale production rather than just in niche or short-run use cases.
Together, the group chatted about topics spanning the journey from early inkjet integration (which occurred around 2008) to where digital presses are now pushing into industrial-volume territory with productivity, embellishments, and volume scaling. Workflow and data automation, as well as the next generation of product managers and new software that often includes artificial intelligence (AI), are part of that message, too.
For industry players, knowing where digital labeling and packaging is headed is crucial. The transition isn’t just about replacing analog presses: It’s about rethinking workflows, business models, software, and talent strategies. That said, despite several concerns brought up during the podcast (e.g., economic, supply chain, and cost pressures), our analysts were sure to emphasize the optimism in the air in Barcelona that could be attributed to strong attendance, a vibrant show floor, and general renewed energy surrounding the event.
