We like trends. It’s a big part of what we do. See, after collecting research for just about any project, the goal of our analysts is to study said trends and report on them. There’s education to be had, strategic at that—but above everything else, trends reveal the truth.

Allow me to put my analyst hat on for a minute to quickly dissect our top stories from The Key Point Blog in 2023. Anything related to acquisitions, events, and product launches tend to do well, and it’s always great when all three types are covered for the workplace and in production. One intriguing note is that artificial intelligence (AI) is represented but not as heavily as you might think—I fully expect that to change when I write next year’s edition of this piece. Otherwise…

  • Ricoh occupied the first two spots and was the subject of three of the first nine. Two of those three pertained to its deal with Fujitsu, clearly one of the most newsworthy stories of 2023.
  • With a pair of other scan pieces on the list, including a blog on the Sharp-Kodak Alaris partnership, it’s difficult to dispute that capture is critical and digital transformation (DX) remains vital.
  • Sustainability continues to be an important subject that attracts readers—and for good reason. Over 20% of the articles represented here are related to the environment in some way.
  • While I have no technical or market expertise around textile and apparel, the space is one of the most interesting in print to me, so it was nice to see a couple of blogs make the cut.
  • Cybersecurity played into many articles, but not a single one was dedicated to the subject. It’s still crucial, no argument there, but has overkill sunken in at least when it comes to content?

Just my opinion. Have a look for yourself. Happy reading!
