If we’ve learned anything from the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s that we (as a collective) can rally and continue to keep the wheels of industry moving even when we can’t leave our homes. If there’s something else we’ve learned, it’s that “work-life balance” is no longer a buzzword thrown about without weight.
While we’ve long returned to some sense of normalcy, we can’t go back to the way things were before the pandemic. Return to office mandates have been met with great opposition worldwide and reports have shown that companies attempting to force people back to the office are met with walkouts and a talent drain as people leave for more flexible opportunities.
But what about a more hybrid approach? Who is actually engaging in this split between working from home and the office? Here’s just a little insight into the benefits of this practice.

Keypoint Intelligence Opinion
While we are seeing an increase in the number of days spent in the office, we’re also seeing growth in the number of companies utilizing a hybrid workplace. Considering the overwhelmingly negative reaction to return to office mandates, it’s not surprising that more companies are being more open to improving work-life balance. Offering a hybrid work environment is also a “no cost” benefit for employees, luring a greater talent pool from those who are unable (or unwilling) to be more flexible.
Ultimately, it’s up to the company’s C-suite to determine what’s best for them. However, it would be foolish to just go back to how things were…innovation can take many forms, and one doesn’t have to look only at R&D to find ways to move forward.
