August 4, 2015 – Fairfield, NJ – Supplementing its “revolutionary” Replaceable Ink Pack System, Epson today launched five EcoTank all-in-ones to again help customers reduce ink costs. With this product intro, the company now offers extremely long-life ink supplies that can positively impact TCO from SMBs to the home. “With our EcoTank devices, you no longer have to curb your color printing,” said Nils Madden, marketing director for Epson America’s Consumer Inkjet Division. “For four of the five new all-in-ones, those that have replacement ink in bottles rather than packs, customers will reap the benefit of a lower CPP than that from a comparable mono laser MFP running a third-party cartridge.”
Out-of-box EcoTank reservoirs are filled with up to two years’ worth of ink, and as long as organizations or users maintain normal print volumes, they won’t have to replace ink during that time. In turn, due to the included ink and the high rated yields compared with the price of a replacement set of bottles, customers will both do their part on the environmental front and cut costs associated with document output. In fact, Epson says the preloaded ink in the two new personal all-in-ones is roughly the same as 20 sets of cartridges for the competitors; a replacement set of bottles for these devices is approximately $52, while the extra 20 sets of cartridges would cost around $800—that’s almost unbelievable.
And as a result of the EcoTank technology/MicroPiezo printhead combo, the company has organically created a brand new category in the A4 segment—what Epson is calling Supertank. “The U.S. market has shown it’s ready for a new alternative, and that customers are willing to spend more upfront because they know a good value when they see one,” Madden said. “Along with a lower cost of ownership, what we’re delivering with EcoTank devices is the convenience factor, which is also something that resonates with organizations and users.”
Features native to the five all-in-ones include a standard wireless interface, compatibility with Epson iPrint and Epson Connect solutions for mobile printing, and a two-year limited warranty. All the devices use dye-based ink, with the exception of the black pigment ink for the WorkForce ET-4500 EcoTank All-in-One, and they’ll all be available in September through major computer, office and electronic retailers.
