Providing service is an integral part of the document imaging industry and, for many, is considered the backbone of the business model. The idea of remote service is not new, of course, but it became essential during the COVID pandemic when service suppliers were looking for ways to pivot to contactless solutions. Here at Keypoint Intelligence, we define “remote service” as the ability to provide maintenance in a contactless way on a device from a remote location, without being at the same location.


Advancements in the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and augmented reality (AR) have helped make this possible. According to resellers, remote service capabilities are going to be crucial for future work environments.
