Director Changes Coming to Canon
Canon revealed directorial changes focused on enhancing management, including the appointment and retirement of directors. Set for formal approval in March 2024, the restructuring aims to strengthen oversight by expanding the board to 10 members to leverage broader expertise.
On a related front, Canon Solutions America announced a reshuffling with the elevation of Steven Giuliano to Executive Vice President and Stephen Frank to Senior Vice President/General Manager. These promotions spotlight Canon's commitment to innovation and dedication to developing talent.
Some Ricoh Printers Have Vulnerabilities Detected
Ricoh disclosed vulnerabilities in certain printers with features such as buffer overflow, heap corruption, and memory corruption issues in the PostScript interpreter. An input validation flaw in the SE Menu, potentially allowing attackers to execute arbitrary code, has also been reported. Ricoh listed affected models and provided mitigation details on its website, urging customers to reach out for support.
Konica Minolta Explores Fresh Pathways for Growth with Dealer Partners
Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. gathered its mid-market dealers in the Sarasota, Florida area to unveil new technologies and sales strategies. The event carried the theme of “High Velocity” and highlighted digital transformation (DX) through the cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.

In late 2023, Keypoint Intelligence completed a comprehensive multi-client study to gain a better understanding of how the demand for print is changing in key vertical industries. This survey serves as an update to similar vertical market research that was conducted in 2020. The verticals we covered in depth included education, finance/banking, healthcare, hospitality, insurance, manufacturing, retail, and publishing. In April 2024, we published a blog covering the survey’s findings on media mix and the importance of personalization. This blog explores the key considerations for selecting a print service provider (PSP). There is no question that price is important, but print quality is the top consideration by a wide margin. We discuss here some of the key findings from this study.
