HP Amplify Conference Preview Event Goes Heavy on Artificial Intelligence

A glimpse at HP’s AI-powered products and solutions

Check out Keypoint Intelligence’s Artificial Intelligence Services!

Last week, I had the opportunity to get an early look at some of the upcoming products and solutions that HP was offering at their Amplify Conference Preview event in Manhattan. From what I saw, artificial intelligence (AI) and automation were the stars of the show. Over the course of the last two years, AI-powered tools have become more of the norm of what consumers and businesses have come to expect from the tools they use every day—and HP is clearly stepping up to contribute to these innovations. I (for one) was especially interested in their document and workplace-focused business offerings.

AI-Generated File Naming

Focusing on scanning, a few of HP’s newly introduced capabilities are set to streamline workflows for businesses of all sizes (and they will be released later this year). Enhancing their scan to e-mail functionality on their devices, AI-generated summaries of scanned documents are provided to users—giving them highlights of the documents they are working with. Appropriate subject lines for the email and filenames for PDFs can be created based on the content that was scanned and analyzed. Gone are the days of having no subject lines and generic file names like “scan.pdf” that make it more annoying to search for documents as HP is making the user experience more convenient.

AI-Powered Redaction for Security

That’s not the only news related to scanning, as users will be able to remediate information with barely any effort on HP devices using AI that is able to identify what sensitive information should be censored upon being scanned. This can put users at ease when handling internal documents or documents shared by clients, as information like social security numbers, financial account information, and passport numbers is automatically blacked out. If it isn’t, however, users will have the ability to further redact information that was missed by the solution upon review and identify what redactions and corrections should be made right on the device. Such simple functionality is useful for office workers at small-to-medium businesses, who are more casual with their document capture activity and don’t always scan documents.

Enhancing Fleet Management and Addressing Challenges

When it comes to managing and handling challenges across document-oriented fleets, HP is also set to further empower businesses with updates to their Workforce Experience Platform. In the coming months, users can expect to see plenty of quality-of-life improvements, including being able to check the fleet inventory in the main dashboard for printers, PCs, video endpoints, and telephones. Through integration with Vyopta, organizations gain visibility into how their devices are being used. In addition to this, users will be able to remediate the devices in their workplaces by enabling Windows Secure Boot to prevent malicious code from running, ensuring greater device security.

AI Sentiment Analysis was also introduced for the HP Workforce Experience Platform. With this feature, administrators can post questions through free text surveys for users to answer around any feedback they might have around their experiences with the devices in the office, generating AI summaries based on the responses that were given to help address any technical issues being encountered quickly and effectively. Finally, through the Fleet Explorer, users can communicate with HP’s Workforce Experience Platform using natural language processing like they would with ChatGPT and ask direct questions about device activity—finding specific answers about their performance with just a prompt.

Elevating Employee and Customer Experiences

HP isn’t just focused on helping the workforce as they set the tone that they want their tools to be able to elevate employees and consumers alike. HP’s AI Companion is set to include regular chat functionality, a library to hold files and analyze them so users can leverage the information they’ve accumulated over time, and a Perform functionality where users can ask natural language questions to provide them with directions or help with technical questions about how to optimize PC usage. Not only do these capabilities equip users with the knowledge they need at any point to do their best work, but they can ensure that their devices are working up to par. What’s even more exciting is that users can expect to do all of this with just speaking to HP AI Companion via the AI-voice chat feature (which is expected to release over the summer).

Keypoint Intelligence Opinion

This was only a start to HP’s announcements, as there was so much that they are bringing to the table. Another major announcement at Amplify included the release of their OmniBook series of laptops, which are designed to marry casual and professional use cases.

Even looking at these devices, the common thread through all the announcements made at the event was the implementation of how AI would be leveraged to bring ease of use to the everyday user and streamline the tasks they have to tackle day in and day out.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a more in-depth look from Keypoint Intelligence of the products and solutions that were shared at the HP Amplify Conference.
