Last week, I had the privilege of attending a landmark media event hosted by EFI Reggiani—a true leader in innovation and sustainability in the textile printing industry. The event was held at the new EFI Reggiani Customer Experience Center in Bergamo, Italy, and showcased its latest advancements in textile printing technology. The agenda was packed with insightful presentations, live demonstrations, and signaled a significant leap towards sustainability and efficiency in digital textile printing solutions.
Industrial Inkjet
The day kicked off with an engaging overview of the industrial inkjet landscape from Ken Hanulec, EFI’s Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, highlighting how EFI Reggiani’s portfolio of printers meets the needs of textile printers at every level. Hanulec discussed the evolution of EFI’s products and technology and their burgeoning role in various applications, from home furnishings to high-end fashion. He also emphasized how EFI’s innovations have been a pivotal part in transforming the traditional textile industry. His presentation set a solid foundation for understanding the technological strides EFI Reggiani is making in the textile industry.
Sustainability & Productivity
Next, Charles Lissenburg, EFI Reggiani’s Senior Sales Director, spoke on a topic that resonates deeply within the textile industry: sustainability. His session, entitled “True Sustainability. True Productivity. Right Now”, explored how EFI Reggiani’s solutions are designed to reduce environmental impact without compromising productivity. Lissenburg highlighted the company’s efforts to minimize water and energy consumption and reduce CO2 emissions, commitments that are increasingly becoming benchmarks for evaluating digital textile printers.
Textile Printing in One Simple Step
Another highlight of the event was Micol Gamba’s talk on the EFI Reggiani ecoTerra that is available in six different configurations. Gamba, EFI’s Product Marketing Director, explained how this groundbreaking printer simplifies the textile printing process by integrating pre-treatment, printing, and finishing steps into one seamless operation. The ecoTerra not only boosts efficiency, but also significantly cuts down on chemical and water usage—aligning with the sustainability themes underscored by Lissenburg earlier.

Mass Production Moves to On-Demand
Continuing with the theme of innovation, Gamba then presented the EFI Reggiani HYPER and the all-new Bolt XS announced last June. These machines represent the pinnacle of EFI’s technological advancement, transitioning mass textile production to on-demand manufacturing. This shift not only reduces inventory costs and waste, but also allows for greater customization and faster response to market trends. Gamba’s presentation clearly illustrated how EFI Reggiani is reshaping the industry landscape, making it more dynamic and responsive.

EFI Reggiani’s New Customer Experience Center
The event culminated with a series of live demonstrations in the EFI Reggiani Customer Experience Center where I experienced first-hand the ability of EFI’s portfolio of digital textile printers. Watching the ecoTerra and HYPER in action, their speed, quality, and ecological benefits were clearly evident. But nothing compared to the stunning demonstration of the Bolt XS cruising along at 100 m/min. The demonstrations provided an excellent opportunity to see the practical application of the morning’s discussions, with EFI experts walking us through the technicalities and answering questions.
