Brother VPP+ Is Cloud-First MPS Made Easy

A simpler way for dealers to onboard and monitor distributed fleets

Not every managed print conversation has to start with software installs, firewall requests, and a scavenger hunt for meters. Dealers know the drill: a promising win turns into a project plan, the project plan turns into tickets, and somebody somewhere still has to walk a site to get devices dialed in. Meanwhile, customers expect the kind of “it just works” experience they already get in other parts of IT.

That mismatch between what fleets need and how long it takes to wire them up is exactly where Brother’s Value Print Program Plus (VPP+) lands. It’s a cloud-managed evolution of Brother’s long-running Value Print Program that promises less heavy lifting for dealers, a more convenient ownership experience for customers, and a platform that grows with mixed-brand realities. If your business leans A4 and your clients are spread across sites or states, VPP+ aims to make the work feel a lot lighter.

What Is Brother VPP+?

At its core, VPP+ adds a modern, cloud-managed managed print service (MPS) layer to the classic VPP pillars. The program is built around 3manager: a mature, multi-brand monitoring and analytics platform with a substantial global footprint. For Brother devices, that cloud platform is provided at no charge; third party devices can be included for a small per-device fee (an important option if you manage blended fleets and want one pane of glass).

Eligibility is dealer-friendly, but intentional. You start with at least five machines and commit to 20 units by the end of the program period, with OEM supplies usage as the baseline. In return, the “plus” is more than branding. You get faster enrollment, simpler fulfillment, and richer operational data without turning every engagement into an IT science project. Major account support is explicitly part of the package, and the platform choice matters: 3manager brings cross-brand data collection, contract-aware analytics, and integrations into common dealer back-office systems. VPP+ is essentially Brother’s way of converting a discount-and-warranty program into a cloud-first fleet service that still plays nicely with the rest of your estate.

How Does VPP+ Change Day-to-Day Dealer Operations?

VPP+ simplifies fleet management by rethinking how devices connect and communicate. On Brother “Workhorse” models with the Brother Solutions Interface (BSI)—the company’s MFP-embedded web-based software platform—devices can securely enroll to the cloud over HTTPS with a single “Connect to Server” step (no data collection agent required). Older BSI units can be configured through the Embedded Web Server, while non-Brother devices integrate via 3manager’s lightweight agent—giving dealers coverage across mixed fleets without complicated installs. Multi-site customers (whether in retail, hospitality, or healthcare) can onboard devices quickly even without on-site IT. The platform captures more than meter reads, blending contract data and utilization trends so dealers can monitor compliance, track margins, and identify upsell opportunities while service teams can preflight devices before shipping, check firmware versions, reboot systems remotely, and use BRAdmin to clone or back up configurations—all of which reduce truck rolls and keeping fleets consistent.

Fulfillment also improves through automated toner replenishment that is triggered by real usage data with direct dropship to end customers. Back-office integrations with CEO Juice and e-automate streamline billing and service workflows, making administration more efficient and accurate. For customers seeking sustainability, PrintReleaf adds reporting and automated reforestation options. Together, these elements turn VPP+ into a program that balances simplicity with insight—giving dealers new ways to strengthen customer relationships while scaling effectively across distributed environments.

What Does This Mean for Dealers and Distributed Verticals?

For dealers, VPP+ is about making retention easier while opening paths to growth. Automated toner fulfillment means customers never face last-minute shortages, remote reboots and firmware checks reduce site visits, and analytics highlight when a supposedly “light use” site is consuming like a production floor. These moments build trust and reveal upsell opportunities, while visibility into contract health and device performance helps resellers optimize margins and customer experience.

In turn, customers enjoy a smoother, more predictable relationship with their print environment. They keep the familiar benefits of discounted supplies and extended warranties, but now with a management layer that operates quietly in the background. For organizations with multiple sites, national rollouts become realistic because enrollment is distributed and repeatable, requiring little IT intervention. Even in mixed-brand fleets, VPP+ maintains value; for example, HP devices are supported through 3manager’s SDS integration for tasks like firmware updates, log retrieval, or remote troubleshooting.

The real sweet spot is verticals where devices are scattered and IT resources are minimal (such as retail, hospitality, healthcare branches, and education). In these environments, consistency is critical. With VPP+, every location can be brought online in the same streamlined way, while non-Brother devices still feed into a single console. The result is a model where operational management shifts from high-effort interventions to standardized, scalable practices.

For resellers, this means less time chasing meters or scheduling truck rolls and more time positioning themselves as partners who anticipate needs. For customers, it means confidence that their fleets are supported without disruption. Together, that alignment creates an environment where MPS feels less like an overhead burden and more like a quietly effective service woven into daily operations.

Keypoint Intelligence Opinion

Rather than overhaul everything, Brother VPP+ smooths out the pain points dealers face most: onboarding, visibility, and supplies logistics. By combining familiar VPP incentives with a cloud platform that removes setup friction, Brother delivers a program aligned with today’s distributed, IT-like fleets. Secure, one-touch enrollment shortens time-to-value without compromising security, a clear advantage for dealers navigating firewalls, bandwidth limits, and lean staffing. Layer on integrations with CEO Juice and e-automate for streamlined workflows, plus optional PrintReleaf sustainability reporting, and the program provides meaningful signals for sales and service teams alike.

VPP+ is especially right for A4-focused resellers serving distributed customers in verticals like retail, healthcare, and hospitality—where low-touch deployment and national coverage are critical. The one-button enrollment and automated fulfillment help resellers deliver consistency without leaning on local IT, while integrations with back-office tools keep billing and service smooth. For these partners, VPP+ is less about cutting costs and more about scaling quickly with confidence.
