Hard to believe we’ve been using the term “mega dealer” for almost a decade. As a reminder, the megas comprise a group of companies that each exceeds $100 million in annual revenue, with some around $500 million. Many are backed by private equity and, while print is where their journeys began, the combination of managed IT services (MITS) and other smart technologies is how they’re moving the needle today. It’s not just interesting to watch the activity of this part of the channel in the United States—it’s important, and we pay attention.

Acquisitions are always a key metric. Of the 193 dealer-dealer transactions dating back to the start of 2020, 78 (40%) were made by mega dealers. Megas have closed six deals this year out of 21 total, so a little (s)lower than the average since the pandemic. One of the dealers that has made the most acquisitions over this time is Kelley Create. And, somewhat not surprisingly, the company is the newest addition to the mega dealer list. Nine acquisitions, along with organic growth, have helped the company surge past that $100 million threshold.

We’re happy to present this guide for the fourth straight year. Use it for reference, dig deeper into each company if you dare, or need to. And now we are left to wonder:

Which lucky dealer will become the 20th mega?!
