Gifting for Mother’s Day Is Getting Personal

Mother’s Day is coming and we all know the gifts we’re going to get our moms…flowers, her favorite candy, brunch at a fancy restaurant, a bit of jewelry. It’s pretty cliché at this point to even list these as they tend to fall into the categories of gifts that we get our moms for every occasion—not to mention items associated with whatever hobby they may have like gardening, reading, or (if you’re my mom) quilting.

• Sporty moms can have a custom jersey made from the MLB website that lets them pick from their favorite team and add their name to the back.
• Lastly, if you have to get her something sweet, you might as well order M&Ms that are printed with Mother’s Day messages along the candy shell instead of just the company’s logo.

Mother’s Day is supposed to be about showing gratitude to a woman who has been one of your biggest supporters, a guide, and someone who loves you unconditionally. Getting her a gift shouldn’t be an obligation and should feel like something special that really shows what she means to you. And if the choice is between a bouquet of grocery store flowers or something that’s been customized for her, then it shouldn’t be that hard of a decision to make.
