Considered by some to be the premier event for healthcare technology, the HIMSS Global Conference & Exhibition brought together approximately 28,000 industry leaders and professionals to the Venetian Convention & Expo Center in Las Vegas, NV. Held from March 3-6, HIMSS 2025 provided attendees with encouraging insights and innovative research that seeks to shape the future of digital health.

The conference started with a keynote by Dr. Seung-woo Park, President of the Samsung Medical Center, emphasizing the vital role of digital transformation in healthcare. Dr. Park was joined by Dr. Meong Hi Son, Chief Medical Information Officer of Samsung Medical Center, as well as by some artificial intelligence (AI)-powered robots used in Dr. Son’s program. The session highlighted the increasing integration of technology in patient care and the efficiency gains from electronic medical records. Other speakers included Army General Paul M. Nakasone, who spoke on transformational leadership and the evolving cybersecurity challenges in healthcare, as well as HIMSS President and CEO Hal Wolf highlighting how conversations around AI in hospitals and health systems have shifted.

Addressing Key Healthcare Challenges

Artificial Intelligence was a dominant theme at HIMSS 2025, with companies such as Microsoft, Zoom, and Teladoc unveiling new AI-driven solutions aimed at enhancing clinical decision support, automating workflows, and improving patient outcomes. The conference also featured hundreds of educational sessions focused on pressing healthcare issues such as health equity, workforce development, and the ethical use of emerging technologies. These discussions reinforced the importance of balancing innovation with responsible implementation to ensure long-term benefits for both patients and providers.

The exhibit hall featured nearly 1,000 companies across seven specialty pavilions. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the latest advancements in interoperability, cybersecurity, AI-powered diagnostics, and patient engagement tools—all driving healthcare toward a more connected and efficient future. HIMSS 2025 also served as a hub for international cooperation, with a notable memorandum of understanding signed between HIMSS and the government of Türkiye, furthering global digital health transformation efforts.

Keypoint Intelligence Opinion

HIMSS 2025 closed with a keynote from Simone Biles, who is the most decorated Olympic gymnast in history and an advocate for mental health awareness. Her words allowed Ms. Biles to bring an important perspective outside of the healthcare industry about the connection between healthcare, technology, and general well-being.

As healthcare continues its rapid technological evolution, HIMSS remains at the forefront, driving collaboration, innovation, and meaningful change in the industry. HIMSS 2025 once again showed itself to be a leading global platform for digital health innovation, uniting some of the brightest minds and influential voices in the industry. We expect the momentum from the Las Vegas show to continue with HIMSS 2025 Europe in Paris (June 10-12) and HIMSS 2026, which is set to return next year to Las Vegas on March 9-12.
