In the realm of cybersecurity, threats often shift and change depending upon the location of the devices we are protecting. There are different issues for securing personal devices versus a network for a company—with the difference in infection rates between consumer and business PCs remaining a significant topic. Businesses often employ stricter security measures by nature of the data they contain. A hacker may break into your PC at home to steal credit card information or other personal data, but they can (and often) steal data in silos from companies and hold it hostage in hopes of earning a greater payout than what some average Joe can pay.

OpenText, as well as offering cybersecurity solutions, has been collecting data regarding cybersecurity issues for a while now—offering insights into best practices as well as the dangers lurking online. As part of this assessment, they have recently released the 2024 Threat Perspective detailing its perspective on malware, ransomware, and phishing. Our newest infographic provides some key findings from this report, focusing on the infection rates of malware as well as the dangers of ransomware.
