Keypoint Intelligence has just published one of its most popular annual deliverables: Vendor Financials, a document that appraises the financial health of major manufacturers in the global office and production equipment industry. It covers the performance of 19 industry players in the 2023 fiscal year to the end of March 2024 (fiscal years can vary by company), detailing financial performance and related analysis for the major players in the workplace and production markets.
In most cases we show the vendors’ imaging and printing revenue over a six-year span, with some context behind some of the key changes. We also review operating profits within imaging and printing divisions to provide another measure of financial health. In the cases where vendors do not report their performance publicly, we substitute revenue and profit information with data from our single-function printer and MFP placement as well as market share estimates.
Here are a few high-level findings from our latest financial review:
- The challenges associated with the aftermath of COVID, supply chain issues, shortages, and other geopolitical influences on the market seem to be dormant, allowing for growth among the majority of workplace and production-focused vendors. Most are reporting revenue and sales growth with optimism for FY 2024.
- Operating profit generally increased across most of the 19 vendors, with operating margins increasing too; this varied for a couple of vendors who did see a slight decline in margins.
- Growth in digital transformation initiatives and solutions services take-up are also driving growth, particularly for Workplace vendors.
If you’re interested in the fiscal health of the major workplace and production industry players, this is a must-read publication!
